Transparent means “easy to perceive or detect.” A transparent government is an accessible government. It’s one that works for the people and with the people. It’s the kind that listens to the community and the kind that responds to even the simplest of inquiries. It’s the kind that treats people with respect. It’s the kind that shares its intentions and plans in a way that clearly communicates and outlines the purpose, the process, and the goal. It’s the kind that engages it’s people every step of the way. I love where I live and I want the best for our county; this should be our collective rally cry. We should be uniting as one unit for the good of our community. If we are open and transparent, respectful and kind, thoughtful and considerate, we will accomplish great things.
