Early Life and Values

Erin Resner was born in Yuba City and raised in Redding from infancy –  a child of the North State, shaped by the grit and grace that define this community. She grew up on a ranch where responsibility wasn’t optional and excuses didn’t exist. Early mornings feeding before school and late nights mucking stalls weren’t chores; they were lessons. Lessons in work ethic. In accountability. In showing up even when no one is watching.

That ranch taught her what real leadership looks like long before politics ever entered the picture: you work hard, you take care of your people, and you do what you say you’re going to do.

Those values – God, country, family – weren’t slogans in her home. They were lived out loud. They shaped Erin’s respect for the small-town character, traditions, and community strength that make Shasta County worth fighting for.

Education and Personal Journey

After graduating from Foothill High School in Palo Cedro, Erin pursued higher education at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Due to personal losses, she transferred to St. Mary’s College of California, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Environmental Sciences.

While in college, Erin met Chris, her husband. Together, they built a life that includes owning multiple Dutch Bros Coffee franchises and raising their four children: Beckett, Rally, Maven, and Renzo.

Business Ventures

Erin and Chris opened their first coffee stand shortly before getting married, eventually expanding to eight locations and employing over two hundred young people. Erin manages the financial and operational aspects of the business, focusing on profit and loss analysis and budget planning, while Chris handles the creative side. Their success in business has also made them champions of youth employment and community programs throughout Shasta County.

Political Experience

In 2018, Erin was elected to the Redding City Council and was appointed Mayor in 2020. Her tenure was marked by significant accomplishments, including:

  • Establishing the Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT) to provide mental health support and crisis intervention services.
  • Focusing on public safety, enhancing infrastructure, and supporting small businesses.
  • Revitalizing downtown Redding, promoting economic growth, and community engagement.

In 2024, Erin was elected to a partial two-year term on the Redding City Council to finish the work Councilmember Michael Daquisto began before he had to step down — continuing her commitment to responsible governance, community stability, and protecting Redding’s future.

Community Involvement and Philanthropy

Erin is known for her generosity and problem-solving abilities. She has received numerous awards for her philanthropic work, including the Virgil Covington Award and Business of the Year by the State of California. Her dedication to community service is evident in her involvement with various organizations:

  • Philanthropic Member and Past Chair of The Women’s Fund.
  • Court Appointed Special Advocate for youth in Dependency Court.
  • Founding board member and sitting treasurer of the Children’s Legacy Center.
  • Major donor to multiple community entities including Turtle Bay and One Safe Place.

Vision for the Future

As Erin’s children grow older, she is more determined than ever to protect the values she learned on her childhood ranch: hard work, integrity, personal responsibility, and showing up when it matters. Those are the values she’s raising her family with, and they’re the values she believes Shasta County deserves from its leaders.

Erin isn’t running because it’s convenient. She’s running because we’ve all had enough of instability, waste, and politicians who put themselves first. She’s running to secure a future where freedom, safety, and strong families remain the backbone of Shasta County, not casualties of political games.

Her vision is clear: responsible growth and conservative stewardship, grounded in the things that matter most: protecting our community, defending victims, restoring law and order, supporting mental and behavioral health solutions, and demanding fiscal accountability at every level. Erin believes in limited government, local control, and common-sense leadership that strengthens our county.

Erin brings experience, conviction, and a deep love for this community. She is ready to fight for a county rooted in her three pillars:
• Mental Health & Community Safety
• Justice & Accountability
• Fiscal Responsibility & Transparent Governance

Because Shasta County deserves leadership built on truth, stability, and service. Erin is running because we’ve had enough of pretending otherwise.
